These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website www.mentari.in and the educational services offered under the brand Mentari (“Mentari”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By accessing our website, booking a session, or enrolling in a course, you (and, for a student under 18, the parent or guardian who consents) agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Definitions
- “Services” means our website, intro sessions, workshops, 1:1 sessions, group batches, courses, and related materials and communications.
- “Student” means the person receiving instruction, typically in Grades 9 to 12.
- “Parent” or “Guardian” means the parent or lawful guardian who enrols and consents on behalf of a Student under 18.
- “User”, “you”, or “your” means any person who uses the Services, including a Parent/Guardian and a Student.
2. Eligibility and parental consent
Our courses are designed for students in Grades 9 to 12. Many students are under 18 years of age. A Student under 18 may use the Services only where a Parent or Guardian has reviewed and accepted these Terms and provided consent. By enrolling a Student, the Parent/Guardian confirms that they have the authority to do so and accept these Terms on the Student’s behalf. We may require verification of the Parent/Guardian relationship before processing enrolment.
3. The Services
Mentari offers capability-building education — including critical thinking, creative writing, research, policy and ideas, entrepreneurship, mental math models, and AI fluency. Sessions may be delivered one-to-one or in small batches, online via third-party platforms. We may update, add, or discontinue specific courses, formats, or features. Course descriptions indicate the number of sessions and broad scope; exact content may be adapted to the Student’s needs.
4. Enrolment and scheduling
- Enrolment is confirmed once we accept your booking and (where applicable) payment is received.
- Session timings are agreed in advance. Please join sessions on time; sessions run for the scheduled duration.
- Rescheduling is subject to Section 6 and to instructor availability.
- We may decline or cancel an enrolment at our discretion, for example where a course is full or unsuitable for the Student; in such cases any amount paid for undelivered sessions is refunded.
5. Fees, payment and taxes
- Fees for sessions and courses are as quoted at the time of booking and are stated in Indian Rupees (₹). Online payments are processed through a third-party payment gateway (such as Razorpay). By making a payment you agree to the gateway’s terms in addition to these Terms.
- Course fees may be payable upfront or in instalments, as specified at booking. Access to scheduled sessions is contingent on cleared payment.
- All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes (such as GST) unless stated otherwise; applicable taxes will be added and shown on your invoice.
- Any discounts (for example, founding-cohort pricing) apply only on the terms communicated to you and may be subject to conditions such as providing a testimonial or referrals.
6. Cancellations, rescheduling and refunds
- Rescheduling: A scheduled 1:1 session may be rescheduled without charge if you give at least [24/48] hours’ notice. Sessions cancelled with shorter notice, or missed without notice (“no-show”), may be treated as delivered and are not refundable.
- Cancellation by you: For multi-session courses, you may discontinue at any time. Refunds, if any, are calculated on a pro-rata basis for sessions not yet delivered, less any applicable discount adjustments and payment-gateway charges, unless stated otherwise at booking.
- Cancellation by us: If we cancel a session or course, we will reschedule it or refund the amount paid for the undelivered portion, at your option.
- Refund processing: Approved refunds are made to the original payment method, typically within [7–10] business days, subject to the payment gateway’s timelines.
7. Code of conduct
We want sessions to be safe, focused, and respectful. Users agree to:
- Attend sessions punctually and engage in good faith.
- Treat instructors and other students with respect; harassment, abuse, or disruptive behaviour is not permitted.
- Not share login links, recordings, or course materials with anyone outside the enrolled Student’s household.
We may suspend or terminate access, without refund for sessions affected by the conduct, where these standards are seriously or repeatedly breached.
8. Intellectual property
All course materials, worksheets, curricula, recordings, and content provided by Mentari are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. They are provided to the enrolled Student for personal, non-commercial learning only. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, publish, or create derivative works from them without our prior written permission. Work created by a Student during sessions remains the Student’s own.
9. Recording of sessions
Some sessions may be recorded for quality, training, or revision purposes. Where a session is recorded, we will make this clear, and recordings are handled in line with our Privacy Policy. Users may not record sessions themselves without our prior written consent.
10. No guarantee of outcomes
Mentari builds capability and judgement. We do not guarantee any particular outcome — including admission to any university (Ivy League or otherwise), examination scores, scholarships, or employment. Any references to such goals describe the purpose of our teaching, not a promise of results. Outcomes depend on many factors outside our control, including the Student’s effort and third-party decisions.
11. Third-party tools and links
We use third-party platforms (for video calls, payments, scheduling, and storage) and may link to third-party content. We are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of these third parties; your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies.
12. Disclaimers
The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we work hard to deliver high-quality teaching, we do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from technical issues arising from internet connectivity or third-party platforms.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mentari’s total liability arising out of or relating to the Services is limited to the amount paid by you for the specific session or course giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Mentari harmless from claims, losses, or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Services, including unauthorised sharing of materials or recordings.
15. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Services where these Terms are breached, where required by law, or where continuing would be unsafe or impractical. You may stop using the Services at any time, subject to the refund terms in Section 6.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will be available at www.mentari.in with the “Last updated” date shown above. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. The parties will first attempt to resolve any dispute amicably through discussion. Failing that, the dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at New Delhi, India.
